Laura Casillas (she/her)

Actor Bio

Laura is 23 years old and is currently working towards a theater degree here at PCC. She has always loved performing, but didn’t have many opportunities for it during her time playing sports. During the pandemic, she decided to take a couple acting classes and unintentionally, relit her passion for theater. Laura started her journey in PCC theater with the SHH! workshop back in Spring 2022, working backstage as an Assistant Stage Manager. She has been looking forward to this production of SHH!…(The Library Musical) for over a year, and is extremely grateful for the opportunity to return to the show, and even more proud to work with such an amazing team.

Katsy Chappell (she/her)

Actor Bio

Katsy, is an actor, comedian and midnight crafter who in January 2022 started taking beginner woodwind classes at PCC to re-learn the clarinet. On January 2, 2023 she ticked a bucket list wish when she marched in the Rose Parade as a member of the Tournament of Roses Honor band. She also plays with the Los Angeles Police band. Katsy has enjoyed taking classes here at PCC so much that she is now learning the bassoon and more than halfway to earning her degree in music. She is thankful to the SHH QR code posted on flyers around campus and her smart phone for giving her the idea and guiding her to the audition room for SHH! She is thrilled to be a part of this production and wishes to thank the cast and crew of SHH!...(The Library Musical). Way more fun than pandemic sourdough bread baking!

Agnes

Vanessa Arias-Herrera (she/her)

Actor Bio

Vanessa Arias-Herrera (Agnes) is proud to be returning to the PCC mainstage. As a student attending PCC, she has starred in opera (Suor Angelica; Suor Osmina & Sorella Cercatrice II), musical theater (Cabaret, Fraulein Schneider), plays (Freedom! A Look Into Life in Prison and Beyond!; Prisoner #24601, The Brecht Project; Margarete Steffin), student films, and sung lead with jazz combo bands while also serving behind the scenes as a contributing writer, dramaturg, stage manager, and assistant director across multiple productions. Since making her debut at Casa0101 Theater in 2022, Vanessa has appeared in several staged readings as well as this year’s 11th season of Chicanas, Cholas y Chisme presents: The Beat of Their Own Drum, portraying six very distinct characters. She was most recently seen at Casa0101 in the world premiere of an original work by Lindsey Haley titled Favorite Cousins.

Samuel Campbell (he/him)

Actor Bio

This is Sam's final show at PCC, and he couldn't be happier to be a part of such a wonderful production. Over the years, he's been in several musicals including Mary Poppins, The Little Mermaid, Newsies, and now Shh!... (The Library Musical). At PCC, you may have seen him in Middletown, Hamlet, and Mousetrap earlier this year! Hopefully you enjoy the show, a lot of hard work and passion went into it, but if you don't, save the rotten fruit for Sam, he needs food this month.

Sam Jones (she/her)

Actor Bio

This is Sam’s fourth show at PCC and first year at PCC! She is incredibly excited to have a role in bringing such an energetic and joyous new musical to life. Even more exciting is to finally have a love interest with the same name as this is a lifelong personal fantasy. Their favorite past roles include Morticia in The Addams Family, Miss Casewell in Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, and Oberon in Shakespeare in Hollywood. Sending huge hugs and fishy lips to Mom, Dad, Pumpkin, Luna, her therapist(s), all trailblazing arts educators that inspire her (shoutout Hickman, Nigh, Larson) her pookies and besties, and last but never least all of the cast and crew for being so cool, supportive and amazingly talented. #duhdoysammy #meinleg

Sam

Xol Gonzalez (he/him)

Actor Bio

Xol Gonzalez is a second-generation Los Angeles native, born in Inglewood and raised in East LA. When not in front of the camera, he is working diligently behind the scenes as a Director, cinematographer, and writer for his film company “Chicanos with A Camera” with works ranging from documentary, dance videos, educational content and more. Previous collaborations/credits include Grammy Award winning band Quetzal, Door to America (The Colony Theatre), The Cherry Orchard (Trofimov), Angel City (Lanx), The Odd Couple (Speed) CALMATIC, Lena Waithe produced short, “Salao” (Writer), Smithsonian Folkways, Southern California Children’s Museum’s Walk The Walk series (Producer/Director), La Plaza de Cultura y Artes (Producer/Director/AC), Robert Yeoman, Roman Coppola, American Idol, and The Gonzalez Brothers produced short “Tienda”.

Actor Bio

Sara Baker is honored to be in her second production at PCC. She previously made her debut in Suzanne Hunt Jenner’s production of Living Out as Linda Billings Farzam. Currently a sophomore, her aspirations include transferring to a four year institution to continue majoring in theater and working in film/television as an actress. Sara is grateful to her fellow cast mates and crew members for this unforgettable experience.

Actor Bio

Adrian Flores Ballard is delighted to be returning to the cast of SHH!...(The Library Musical). after being part of the ensemble in last year’s workshop production. Previous roles at PCC include Rosencrantz in Hamlet, company in Pirates of Pasadena, and Christopher Wren in The Mousetrap. When not engaged in theatrical endeavors, Adrian enjoys studying Japanese at PCC and writing poetry for personal enrichment. He hopes you enjoy your time at the Library Musical!

Bijon Bruner is a music major studying vocal jazz performance at Pasadena City College. She was a member of the "SHH!…" workshop show and is grateful to have been able to return for the main stage production.

Michelly Cordova (she/her)

Actor Bio

Michelly Cordova is a returning student, majoring in Communications and Music. Preparing for a new career after 8 years as caregiver for her elderly parents. This is Michelly's first musical theater production and a short break from jazz music. Her vocal training began at the age of 5 with early lessons for her granduncle and continues at PCC to include music theory and a deeper understanding of jazz. Michelly has performed at well-known jazz venues in Los Angeles and worked with various Grammy and Oscar winning musicians and producers. Her most recent album '7 Years of Luck!', released in 2022, was companied by a cross-country tour of the US, including shows in Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Brooklyn. In the fall, she will resume touring and recording music.

Alysa Flores (she/her)

Actor Bio

Alysa is a first year student and is excited to do her third PCC production. She has been interested in acting ever since she was a kid and is currently aiming to get an AS-T in Business Administration and an AA-T in Theatre arts here at PCC. She is very grateful to her friends in the cast and crew who have made being part of this production such an enjoyable experience, and to her mom and dad for dealing with her crazy rehearsal schedules.

Katelyn Hampton (she/her)

Actor Bio

Katelyn is a sophomore here within PCC’s theatre department and couldn’t be more excited to take part in this exciting production! She has always had a passion for the methods of storytelling present in her childhood, helping to form the person she has become today. From singing and acting to building and writing, Katelyn has tried and loved it all. After taking part in PCC’s productions of “The Cherry Orchard” and “Living Out”, Katelyn is so excited to get back into the musical scene! She wants to extend all of her gratefulness and love to her incredibly talented cast mates, technicians, and production staff. This show wouldn’t be even the slightest bit as magical as it is today without everyone’s hard work and love.

Actor Bio

Lena is a first year student at PCC, and although she may be majoring in natural sciences, her heart lies in the theater department. She is ecstatic to be making her debut in a production here at PCC, as well as her first ever musical performance. However, Lena is no stranger to the stage as she has been dancing since she was 4 years old. Performing in ballets such as: The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, and Cinderella. She spent a few years dancing with Ballet West, a ballet company in Salt Lake City, Utah. Lena is extremely grateful to Will Hickman, and the entire cast and crew of this show for creating such a welcoming, fun and safe environment. Which is exactly what this show is all about.

Actor Bio

Efreen, also known as Oliver, is starting his journey as a music major here at PCC in the Fall. He’s always loved singing from a young age and has also felt that it is his calling. His dream is to be able to make a living as a musical theater performer and singer. There is still so much he has to learn about theater and music and is more than eager to continue his journey. Efreen would like to thank every person who has ever believed in him, everything he does is as much for them as it is for himself.

Actor Bio

Chris Mendoza is so excited for everyone to see his first college show! He would like to thank his mom, brother, dad, and all of his friends for supporting his rehearsal schedule. His previous credits include Gorlinsky/Dance Captain in Anastasia, Monsieur Firmin in The Phantom of the Opera, and Oliver Rivers in Puffs. Enjoy the show!

Nahomy Nunez Galeano (she/her)

Actor Bio

After singing for the first time in her elementary talent show, Nahomy Nunez-Galeano had been asked to do the national anthem until she moved onto middle school. She had been in choir since seventh grade until the program shut down, and joined the theatre program her junior year of high school. Nunez-Galeano has participated in productions such as “The Laramie Project”,“Complex”, and “Mick and Beth”. She was lead Betty Crawford her senior year in “Writing a Will Can Be Murder”, and starred as Tomika in “School of Rock”. Nunez-Galeano is currently striving to transfer from PCC with associates degrees in Communications and Theatre Arts this upcoming fall 2023.

Actor Bio

Alex Ping, who is part of dance troupe in the “SHH!…(The Library Musical)." This is his second year at Pasadena City College as a theater major, and this will be his third show at PCC. But this is his musical debut! Alex is 20 years old, No previous singing experience, and with a little bit of dance experience, and over 10 years of piano experience. Because this is his first musical, so please be kind to him. That will make him happy and emotional. He wants to become a good professional actor, so he is also taking different theater courses at PCC, hoping to transfer to a university in the future to continue learning professional knowledge and abilities. Finally, enjoy the show, and don’t forget to support everyone in this wonderful cast team and the crew!

Mason Tyler is delighted to be apart of the ensemble for PCC’s MainStage production of SHH! The Library Musical. He has performed in varying workshops at PCC in the past such as The Sparrow and Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap. He is currently a student at PCC, studying theater to be his major, and he is also happy to say that this will also be the first year of his full time career as Technical Theatre Specialist at Monrovia High-school. He is really excited for being able to perform for this wonderful show and would like to wish everyone to have a good show and break a leg!

Tristan is a 3rd year Theater major here at PCC. His performances from previous semesters include "Angel City" by Sam Shepard and "Living Out" by Lisa Loomer. He would like to give appreciation to friends and family for lending their support in his journey into this industry. Additional thanks to each member of the cast and crew who have transformed this show into what it is. It has been an honor for Tristan to get to work with and grow closer to such a talented group of individuals.
